Forensic Archaeology Recovery
Forensic Archaeology Recovery
(FAR)

Mission Statement: Forensic Archaeology Recovery (FAR) is a volunteer organization that assists local authorities to locate, record, and recover human remains and associated personal effects and other materials at mass-fatality disaster scenes. These are entered as evidence into a valid chain of custody for identification that can ultimately bring a measure of closure to relatives and friends of victims and may also resolve issues about the nature of the disaster. Appropriate methods of archaeological and forensic science are used to ensure mediciological and legal credibility for all recoveries. FAR is registered in the State of Rhode Island as a 501(C)3 charitable organization, so gifts and contributions are tax deductible.
